Art in the Barn

May 5, 2019

Spring Greetings to Everyone!

As promised, it's time to announce the first annual Art in the Barn Show and Sale at Treehouse Studio, in South Freeport, ME! Excitement is high and preparations are in full flight - display panels are made, lighting to be installed soon, and barn clean up day is coming right up. Over 100 framed and unframed paintings are being sorted through and readied for the show. There will be plein air sketches and finished paintings in oil and pastel. The guest artists are also busily organizing and selecting their paintings for the show. There will be something for everyone. Please spread the word and I look forward to meeting you! A collage of some of the plein air "sketches" that will be available.

The idea for the Art in the Barn Show came about during one of the Artist Gatherings that I host every 4 - 6 weeks. We were all lamenting how many paintings we had stacked up in our studios that need to find new homes! This is a group of artists brought together from several different groups that I paint with. It's a day filled with painting, camaraderie, a delicious lunch and a constructive critique at the end. The conversation is all about art. Painting together is an opportunity for constructive help with our paintings and insight into others painting process and creative ideas. It also can lead to painting trips and excursions with fellow artists. If you don't already paint with a group I highly recommend it!
